It’s always fun to serve a signature cocktail during the holidays. Many cocktails this time of year feature darker spirits like whisky and bourbon or flavors like egg nog, cranberry and spice. We’re all for those flavors however it’s also nice to mix things up and try something more unexpected. To us pear is a wonderful holiday flavor and it “pairs” really well with tequila and cilantro. Throw in some red linens & it transforms into a great alternative holiday cocktail. We have to admit on finding this one in Food & Wine’s Ultimate Cocktail Guide and of course we had to serve it up in the studio making sure the flavors were just right. The recipe & many more can be found on F&W’s site. Just so you don’t have to go anywhere we have it right here. Recipe after the jump. (more…)

We’re in the season of wishing. A year ago, I Wish This Was began in New Orleans by Candy Chang and was inspired by vacant storefronts. There are a lot of them where Candy lives in New Orleans. Imagine being able to voice what we want, where we want it? Imagine insprine something we think is beyond us to reach? (more…)

We have a lot to be thankful for this year. As a small business, we’re thankful for all of the other small businesses who support us and carry Teroforma products. When we all shop small, it will be huge. Teroforma is supporting Small Business Saturday by asking you to shop small on November 26 at your favorite local stores to help fuel the economy. To find out more about the Shop Small campaign click here. With over 800 stores across the country that carry our products it’s easy to find one close to you!
Last weekend we went up to Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture a non-profit farm and education center in Pocantico Hills, NY. While known for the partner restaurant Blue Hill at Stone Barns as well as a cafe the Center has far more to offer than just eating. Stone Barns is a fully operational 80-acre four-season farm that sits on the Rockefeller Estate. Their mission is simple to “improve the way America eats and farms”. (more…)
Literal packaging that perfectly conveys what the box contains – we love it! Designer Ric Baxter plays off of the function of the rubber bands through a simple study “Go into a pound shop and pick a seemingly uninteresting object and re-brand it, increasing the value and interest”. The box comes in three variations, for light, regular and strong; as the bands inside the box the stronger the box itself becomes more tightly squeezed by the rubber band on the exterior of the package. The affect yields an eye catching and unique package for the shelf accomplishing Baxter’s goal. Too bad these are just a study and not for sale. More projects can be seen on Baxter’s site. (more…)
0 commentsAnother cocktail brought to you from the Teroforma Bar, here’s the Floating Star Martini. Often how food smells is overlooked while we eat. Yes we know when dinner smells delicious while cooking but so often once it’s brought to the table we look to see if it appears tasty then dig in. We love how much the perfume of star anise adds to the flavor of the Floating Star. This is a simple and festive way to kick off Thanksgiving & light enough to drink throughout the afternoon leading up to dinner. Recipe after the jump. (more…)

This holiday season you could be cooking on a work of art. What looks like a lunar landscape is actually the landscape on the underside of a well loved and much used frying pan. Awesome. Part of the Devour series by Christopher Jonassen that includes prints and a book. Christopher says, “Devour is a poetic comment on the downfall of the world as we know it. The photographs investigate a series of frying-pans and the wear and tear they have encountered over the course of their lives.” Blown up we think these orbs take on the look of celestial bodies & galaxies.
